I fully don’t expect to manage quite such a large chunk again (I think it was partly that stage in the project that lent itself to a proper, lengthy scribble, too) but it was such a relief to get it on paper and give myself a firmer basis from which to continue.

I’d really recommend it to anyone who wants to sort their head out and get to grips with a project at planning, writing or editing stage.

Wow, sounds very productive. I’ve been thinking of trying this for a while and it’s good to hear it was so successful. Let’s hope I manage 11,000 words when I go in June!

Am SO pleased you found it so useful! Thing is, I do agree with the view that writing regularly (even just a little bit) is important, but I find putting aside chunks of time more useful because you can really get into it and you get much more done per hour than when you’re stopping and starting. Plus, getting through a big section or amount of words is great for motivation.

And I write longhand because I am currently lacking in technology, normally I only plan that way
